I bought two pekins from auction with the intention of selling them on....

Now we have four of them and a cockerel coming at the end of the breeding season

They are such cute little characters and feisty too but easy to pick up and handle :D

I have 5 pekins one of which is a cockerel. I don't rely on them for eggs as they will lay every day then nothing for a couple of weeks. However they are just pets to me and I love them. I want one in every colour  I have two lavenders, a buff, a white and a silver partrige. They are all beautiful. :D

I think I'm going for a black Japanese, a lavender pekin and am torn on the third - either a buff or partridge pekin. Although the last one may be swapped for a golden sebright. Would they work together? I know pekins and japaneses get on well, but would sebrights get on with them?

Advice on good combinations appreciated! :)

Spent the afternoon modifying a guinea pig run into a bantam run and am - gulp - making my own chicken house to go on it. It's an ark and I'm going to make one side a big pull-back door, with a slide in and out 'tray-style' base, divided into nest box and perch area for easy cleaning. It's all worked out in my head, just got to get the dang saw to go through the wood without tearing. I used to be top of the school at woodwork. Looooong time ago and it shows!
