K-F-C
I will be getting my cube delivered on Tuesday and will hopefully be able to pick up another two hens to go with the two Pepperpot's that Omlet will be delivering... I am wondering what is the best way to transport them? I have a cat box... is this suitable? Thanks
Patricia W
A cat box is fine. Take a cloth that you can cover it with as they are likely to be less stressed in the dark. Enjoy!

*mummy_hen*
A cat box is perfect really. Otherwise a suitably sized cardboard box with air holes works just as well.
Cooks
I used a card board box the first time I got my girls and the second time a cat box, they were fine both times. good luck with your new girls.
laurmurf
I was at the Yorkshire Show on Thursday and only a few poultry people had 'proper' chook transport boxes (the wood ones) most - particularly the old timers - had cardboard boxes with natty little twine handles and holes cut in! if you think about it they're very elf'n safety conscious as you can easily dispose of them and any foreign travelling companions afterwards.
