I'm thinking it might be a handy thing to have for washing. I don't think I have ever seen one in a charity shop, so now I know where my next ebay profits are going! Mrs Frugal Posted July 21, 2009 Share Posted July 21, 2009 I have 3 washboards.............and a mangle . 2 of the washboards are lovely vintage ones picked up from car boot sales but I bought a small one from the Carbolic Soap company and it's fab for scrubbing small items like collars, cuffs and socks. I had several weeks without a washing machine a few years ago and the washboards were an absolute godsend combined with a deep metal tub (an old galvanised baby bath) and the fabulous mangle, I coped wonderfully and still use them today.
