Facebook - Questions

Recommended Posts

Hi All, I am thinking of setting up a facebook account and was wondering if I could ask some questions as I think a few of you on here also go on facebook?

Can I set up a joint account with OH (haven't asked him yet) so it's like a family account?

I know there are groups or pages or something you can link to like the Omlet one and the bounty one... How do I do that?

Would those of you who have facebook accounts recommend it?

and lastly can I add people from here to my contacts list?

I know there are groups or pages or something you can link to like the Omlet one and the bounty one... How do I do that? Use the search feature

Would those of you who have facebook accounts recommend it? Yes, great way to keep in touch!

and lastly can I add people from here to my contacts list? Yes, PM them for their facebook details

Thanks Fred :D , that's very helpful! Just didn't want to try to set it up if I wasnt going to be able to use it.

I guess I need to enter both our names in the first name box when I set the account up for myself? (as if we are one person when registering?)

Sorry for another question...

Why not just set up a facebook account each? You can add that you are married/in a relationship with Mr Jen Jen. This will appear on your profile page. You can tag each other in photos so that they appear on both of your pages....

There are fair few of us on Facebook, let us know when you're set up! 8)

ah cool, I didn't know you could do all that tagging each others accounts etc. I was thinking a family account would be a good way to share photos etc with family (tho I would want to link to omlet etc) but I guess it doesnt really matter if it's a joint account or not

You have an individual account and make friends with all the family members you want to. If you then put them into a group you can upload pictures etc and make them available just to that group. You don't want a "joint" account as your friends/his friends will want to be friends with you and you won't want to listen to someone elses friends drone on (by sending you messages/writing on your wall)!

I love my facebook account! I have got back in contact with a few lost friends and also chat to my family that i dont get to see very often!

you can use it as much or as little as you like and put on what you want and control who sees it. I would restrict it to only people who you authroise to see your info, otherwise anyone on there can access your page! just make sure you go through the security setting bit carefully and when you upload photos tick the 'only my friends can see' box!

It's a great way to keep in contact with people and is nice to have an Omlet page as well! its weird actually seeing the people you talk to on here!!
