cat has sleepover with chickens

Recommended Posts

Yesterday morning we got up and did the usual stuff seeing to all the pets. Looked out kitchen window to check chooks, as we are not shutting egloo door during summer, only to see my pet cat staring at me from inside the run.Well my heart missed a few beats. Icould barely look. Amazingly the chooks were sitting next to her quite happily. I ran and let them all out, to the cats relief I think. They were all fine and no harm done.

It seems that the cat must have been sleeping in their nest when we locked them in the run for the night. Bet she got a shock when the chickens marched in. Dont really know who slept where, but I suspect the cat would have been booted out of the eglu.

Moral of the story- ALWAYS CHECK WHO IS SLEEPING IN EGLu BEFORE PUTING CHICKENS TO BED! :o

one of my cats, Trevor, has to now share with garden with 2 rabbits who chase him around (one gets a little frisky with him!!) and chickens who block him into a corner and yell at him! hahaha

poor trevor!

He's an excellent mouser though. When we first moved in to this house our neighbours told us they haven't had a single mouse in their house since which is good I suppose, still not fun for me having to pick up the left "gifts" off the garden...

 If I don't spot them first, the chickens usually clear up any similar 'gifts' left by my cat!

He'd be terrified of being shut in the run with them, in fact I can't imagine he would ever venture in there, he gives them a wide berth if they're out in the garden.
