Sal119
Is it ok to feed chickens Ready Brek as a treat sometimes. I gave some to mine as the one has been poorly so was trying to entice her to eat something, and they loved it! Just wondering if it's ok for them? Lewis
Check the salt and sugar levels, but I don't see why not. Normal porridge may be better as you know exaclty whats in it

lizbeth
Hi, i work at the company that make ready brek (weetabix!) and it is fine for a treat as it is only made from porridge oats, nothing added apart from vitamins. Weetabix does have small levels of salt and sugar added so i woul be a bit more cautious / use less often. Hope this helps! Liz xx
Egluntyne
I wouldn't give them Ready Brek made with milk, as they are unable to deal with lactose well. You can give them small amounts of organic live yoghurt as it contains the lactase they lack, but not ordinary milk.

Surfnirvana
Hi there, Mine love Ready Brek and poridge. In fact yesterday my OH knew exactly where he came in our house's "pecking order" when I yelled up to him " Darling, I'm making some porridge for the chickens - would you like some too?"" I do only make it with water and add some poultry spice or a bit of powdered garlic -mmmmmm! Occaisionally I give them one weetabix between the 4 of them with water and some bokashi bran. Oh they are sooooo spoilt, but I love them!

kitchens
I just get Tesco value porridge and add water. They love it. I'd be careful with weetabix or ready break but thats just my personal thing.

bevvy1
Hi My 3 girls have had ready brek every morning since they arrived and we have had 3 eggs a day every day since they started to lay last November.
xScrunchee
My girls have ready brek, porridge, weetabix, shredded wheat etc all made with water BUT....I also give them cereals that the kids leave (made with milk), or mashed potatoe that we have left over and that has butter and milk in it. They are fine though, maybe because it is not very often
