Happy chickens!
I am secretary of a local sports club and we are running a big fundraising event in September; I have found that we will be able to claim gift aid on donations (yay!) and am now looking at sites that organise donations for you ie you add a link to your club website and donors can just click and pay. Have found this one: http://www.clubcharity.co.uk/home.htm It all looks very ok, but have never heard of them and wondered if anyone else had. It does sound too good to be true, or am I just getting cynical in old age? Thanks.
Chucky Mama
Is Just Giving any good? I have used it for other things but don't know if it is set up for what you want to do or not. http://www.justgiving.com/
Happy chickens!
Thanks Chucky Mama; yes I've used them before, but they charge £15 a month plus 5% of each donation, and this other company don't seem to charge anything!! As I've no idea whether we'll be generating much money (although aiming for £5k over one weekend, gulp!) by using it, I'm cautious about wasting what isn't my money! Happy chickens!
Shamelessly bumping this up in the hope of some more input. Thank you.
jlo
Sorry I know nothing about the site that you have suggested but this may bump it up again!

Happy chickens!
Are you gulping at the cost of the donation site, or the amount our club hopes to raise?
Chucky Mama
The cost of the donation site.
Happy chickens!
I know. I've registered with the site I came across - they will accept the first £1k of donations without charge, then the negotiate a fee for the future, eg if there are lots of small donations that will cost more to administer than fewer, but larger, donations. Modern charity is very complicated!!! Will be encouraging the use of old-fashioned sponsorship forms I think.
chrisnrob
This company do a Pay As You Go system where there are no monthly fees... https://www.bmycharity.com/for_charities.aspx Rob
Happy chickens!
Thanks for that, Rob - looked good at first sight, but I've trawled through a few pages and there would appear to be a £150 set up fee. Thanks anyway, ideas always appreciated
Lewis
I'm interested in this so halping bump it up Our theatre company are thinking about setting up something similar as we have a few events planned - we're doing a show called Sugar (the stage version of Some Like It Hot) and so are having a Sugar Donut Eating Contest, and one of the male leads is having a full body wax We're hoping for £500 not £5000 though, good luck
chrisnrob
Oh no - I didn't see that bit Lots of places use MissionFish and PayPal to accept donations (http://www.missionfish.org.uk). Just had a look and there's lots of groups - big and small - using it to accept donations. Here's juts one example of how it can be done (with GiftAid!) http://www.springhill.org.uk/donations/index.html Rob
Happy chickens!
Thanks again Rob, will definitely be looking at the ebay site - we already run car boot sales - much easier than a school fair type thing, lwescott if you're looking at fundraising ideas (pm me for more help if needed) - and members often donate stuff for us to sell, which I think we could get more for on ebay than at the boot sale quite often!
