joegg
Layla lost her appetite last week then we went on holiday, she was found "sleeping" on the nest box. She was our beautiful Rhode Island with the fluffiest knickers and glossy feathers , recently sprayed for mites and lice and recently wormed she had always laid softies or very weak shelled eggs. I think she had egg drop syndrome could this have contributed to her death? So we are left with lovely ugly Maggie who has been "moulting " for six months (dont think it is depluming mite as Laylas feathers were beautiful). Maggie is lonely so we would like here to have company ASAP. Main question is this a good idea not knowing how Layla died and not knowing what is causing Maggies baldness? Patricia W
So sorry you've lost Layla. I'd talk to the vet about the " moulting" Odds on it's fine but Maggie needs a friend or two so she needs a diagnosis - one way or the other. Hope it works out Tricia

maryeadrian
I'm so sorry. One of mine died suddenly, leaving me with one. We have to quarantine her for 90 days since we don't know why she died. It really is heartbreaking. We put a mirror up to see what would happen. I think she loves herself! Better than no one at this point. It really does help if you know why the other died. If it's not something contagious, then you can get her a buddy. Again, so sorry.
