simone
someone has told my mum, that when a chicken lays an egg it is soft, and them laying on it makes it hard. is this true ?? thanks
xScrunchee
Nope-not true at all Hens lay eggs with a hard shell but sometimes they do lay a soft egg-this is usually due to calcium deficiency or some other blip. No amount of sitting on a soft egg would make it hard

Raina
I used to think they came out soft then hardened after a while. but they do come out hard i picked up one less than 3 seconds after it was laid and it was hard, but very warm and had a slight ring of wet
