my bluebelle has gone broody again for the 3rd time this year. how many times a year do chickens go broody

Two of mine have never gone broody in 2 years, the other has done 3 times (but came out of it fairly easily!)

One of our has been broody 3 times so far - and she's only 1 this month - however none of the others have.

Betty has gone broody twice in the last year. The last time lasted for 9 weeks!!! We didn't try and snap her out of it due to the fact that we had our own little bundle of joy arrive so we were a little pre-occupied! I'll jump on it straight away next time through as Betty is a double yolk layer!
