One of my chickens has now become obsessed with pecking me. As her top beak is lasered short she is not hurting me but everytime I stand still, sit down or lay down in the garden for 2 secs she comes over and pecks constantly.

 

Is she trying to preen me or establish a pecking order.

Do you usually hand feed them treats? If so, she mights associate you with nice food, so will try and peck you expecting something tasty.

Baked has just pecked me in the mouth and drawn blood. Still love her lots though! I am not sure that it is a pecking order thing but just wanting attention or more treats! In our case it seems to be a desire to have some of my wine .... Andrew gave a little sip a while back and now she won't leave us alone if we have a glass... Note to self - keep face away from chickens ....

Sometimes it's food, sometimes it's curiosity. I doubt it is often aggression, but to show her whose boss, if you put your hand above her back and lower it onto her (gently) then that should make her crouch down, and it will get her to think of you as being The Boss. It won't hurt her or anything like that.

Be careful not to wear red (red nail varnish, toe polish etc) as chickens seem to be obsessed by the colour.

 

Fed mine some strawberries in the Summer and then painted my toenails red - you can guess the rest!!!!
