beckyfitz
My poor chooks have been lousy with mites so have been chasing my tail treating them & cleaning the Eglu. I have noticed a couple of fleas in my house, despite Frontlining the cats, so looks like I may have to have pest control in. After putting up a fence post in my neighbours garden, I came in & tried to brush what I thought was a line of dust off my trousers only to discover it was a load of mites trying to hide in a crease!! Where do they come from? She doen't even have hens! AND... today I have been to get a handful of mixed corn to find it is crawling with weevils!!! Pests are taking over the world!! Will the weevils be of harm to the chooks or will they eat them? I have about a third of a tub left so am tempted to destroy it. I feel like 'pest controlling' my whole house and gardens, can't seem to escape from crawling things - any body else having troubles with pesties, or are they all here??? LJ's Chooks
oh poor you... have you wormed them recently, cos you may be able to shout HOUSE I do feel your pain, we have had chickens infested with mites for the summer and we manage them but yet to be convinced they are gone... I found a worm in their poo today that was about 4 inches long... so the flubevent is out this evening. I think it must be dead to be in their poo cos i add de to their food, but it is still there!!!! Yuk. I normally put chicken poo on the veggie patch, but may be not this lot!!!
