Ugg boot help needed

Recommended Posts

We have had a big horribly huge heating bill at work so we are cutting back a bit and turning the heating down this winter. I was wondering about some nice big fluffy ugg style boots to wear under the desk

Done a bit of googling and have found that genuine uggs are quite dear. Im a bit boggled by all the sites and price variations. I dont know one end of an ugg from the other so Im not sure what Im doing.

I would like a good boot not a cheepie as they have got to last and be hard wearing. Can anyone reccomend a good site or shop to buy ugg or similar style warm boots and weather the sizes come up small or roomy.

Thankyou oh wise omlet gang :D

I have some from Kiwi Sheepskins that will shortly be seeing me through my third winter :) Also have some Bearpaws, check out Amazon for those have they did have them really cheap.

DD's also have Bearpaws and recently I took one pair of DD's to be re-soled. Without promtping the cobbler told me how superior the quality was to Uggs!

There are so many fake Uggs around. The real ones are expensive so if you don't want to spend too much then a pair of fakes are OK. The problem comes when you pay real prices and get fakes. Lots of websites brag that theirs don't come from China but real UGGs actually do come from China  Here is a good guide to whether UGGs are fake or not:

The fake ones tend to be on the small side so if you buy some you will need to go up a size - or 2. I would be inclined to buy a sheepskin boot that isn't an UGG. They are cheaper and you will probably have more of a chance of taking the 'exchange if the wrong size option'.

Following abwsco's advice, I also got a pair of Kiwi Sheepskins last year. They weren't cheap but they were barely off my feet last Winter. Infact, I was seriously sad when the spring came and I didn't have to wear them any more! I took them out last week when it was a bit chilly and they were fab. Roll on the cold weather (and you won't often hear me saying that!)

Thanks so much for the replies. I have been looking up the brands you have suggested. I think genuine uggs are out of the question. A bit too much $$$$ for me.

I had looked at the rocket dog ones already and thought the looked quite good. What are the sizes like on them. Do you have to size up one??

Just be careful that you buy boots that are real sheepskin. Some of the fakes are man made materials.

I've had a pair of 'ugg boots' made by Koolaburra http://www.koolaburra.com/ and I've had a pair of Uggs Australia. Koolaburra were by far the most superior boot. The quality of the sheepskin was much thicker than Uggs'.

Last year I wanted a pair to wear indoors. They were the very short ankle length boot. I actually got these from TK Maxx and these were made by Bearpaw. They only cost me £29.99. They are fab. Again I think they are actually made better than Ugg. Have a look in TK Maxx anyway because they do sell random stuff and you might pick up a bargain.

Happy shopping!! :D

Do Rocket dogs do proper sheepskin now as I know when I looked at them before I got my Kiwi's they were all manmade.

Lynda, I know you've said about the cost but my Bearpaws cost me £40ish and will be worn for my 2nd winter this year. My Kiwi's were £80ish and were worn everyday for at least five months in the first winter and then I alternated between my Bearpaws and Kiwis last year. I did choose ones with chunky soles though. Oh, and wear them without socks to get the full benefit of warm tootsies :)

Thanks all so much for the reccomendations. I has a trawl round lots of web sites and thought I would first try TKMAX. I always forget about TKMAX.

I have bought a pair of Rocket Dogs. They are leather but the inside is man made, however a bargin at £34.00.

I am a size 7 but have had to buy an 8. I tryed on some bearpaws in an 8 and they were too small. Lovley boots though and again a good prce in TKMAX.

Very pleased with my fluffy boots and should have nice toasty feet this winter.

Thanks again :D
