Hi all, I've been following your posts with interest. Took delivery of my blue eglu yesterday. Now looking forward to finding a place to put it in the garden.

I love having my girls, I didn't realise that Chickens had such characters until I got them. I wouldn't be without them now!

When do you get your girls and where are you getting them from? It's so exciting!!

When we have sited the eglu on woodchips in the garden. Have bought things I think I may need eg health products. Just need food and bedding oh and of course chickens! We live at sheffield so will hopefully be getting them from Storrs Farm

Hi Amaryllis, I'm new too, had my girls (two banties and a Welsummer) for about 7 weeks and I am besotted. I can't wait to get home from work everyday to see them. Still waiting for my first egg as they are still babies, but I'm not really bothered about the eggs, I just love them as little chickeny people. They are soo funny!

 

Try and go on an Omlet hen party if there is one near you - I did and found it invaluable.

 

I still have loads of questions too, so you wont be alone.

Luckily I work nights so I will get to see them in the day. I'm sure I will fall in love with them too. The eggs will just be a bonus. I find it all so interesting, spend ages browsing on here. At least it should be fine at the weekend so hopefully should get it all done.
