pekin bantam, hen or cockeral

Recommended Posts

hi,i have 4 bantams 2 light sussex at 16 weeks and 2 black gold pekins at 13 weeks,i am a bit worried that one of the pekins is a rooster, they look about the same one is slightly smaller than the other its this small one thats a bit strange, its very vocal almost crowing but not quite, but when i pick it up it crouches as if it was a hen.at this age would it be obvious if it was a cockeral?can anyone help.

The difference at 13 weeks will be very obvious. Here's pictures of my Golden Partridge Pekins at 12 weeks.

As you can see, very obvious which is which. In fact, we knew for sure from around 8 weeks what each of them was. They boys had combs and wattles developing and going pink from 4 weeks.
