The new Dan Brown

Recommended Posts

I believe its a fairly insidious organisation, and believe you have to be aksed to join by a friend or business associate..

my brother is or was a member,,,I was horriified when I discovered...

I was told women could be members only in the capacity of waiting on men, and as staff...

so no great change there...

in the workplace, men already maintain mafia like control....this is just another example of it..

Thats rubbish - someone was winding you up :lol::lol::lol:

I have met women Masons,& some a very high ranking.

Believe me,they are not the sort of women to put up with waiting on the menfolk!

That said, the lower ranking Masons pour the wine & so forth at the meeting - Hubby did his fair share of that a few years ago 8)

If its all secret how do you get to be one - do you have to be invited?

Michelle

I think some one who's already in it has to nominate you.

Freemasonry is in somewhat of a decline and I read somewhere that you don't always have to be introduced by a brother but can simply attend an interview.

I must admit at being very surprised there were ANY female masons.

I thought playing "secret squirrel" was more of a man thing to get away from the wife.

Hope I get time to start the book tonight, £5.00 from ASDA seems pretty good value. Even if Dan Brown is known for his inaccuracies he writes a thumping good read.

Anyhow, my book has just arrived, so I am off to bed with it,my fluey head,a mince pie & a hot toddy.

Is it Christmas already? Mince Pies? :eh:

I was getting Dan Brown completely confused with Sebastian Faulk.

OH has bought the Dan Brown tonight and it wasn't until I read the post saying it was called the Lost Symbol that I realised I was getting confused.

Sebastian Faulk has a new book out too. "A Day in December" I think it's called.

Sounds good. I will read both eventually.

I`ve read all the Dan Drowns to date and I love all that symbolism stuff, altho I have to say I liked Deception Point the best so far! My b/f has just given me The Lost Symbol which I imagine will now torment me to death as there is no way I`ll get round to reading it until at least after Easter :( . Doing an Open Uni degree course and from now til May I have 2 courses to do, alongside all the usual day-to-day stuff  The thing is, I only meant to read the blurb.........but I turned the page..........ARGH stop before its too late

So equal, but some are of more equal rank than others?! I have family members who are masons. They do a lot of charity work, and like to go on about how they do so much charity work but they don't brag about it because it's all done so quietly. :?

I have known a fair few masons as well who seem very self-important about being in a club.

Boys and their clubs eh? Give me the WI over them anytime.
