mothernature
Here are two eggs from yesterday and two eggs from today. The white’s laid by our white star the cream’s by our magpie Hen. The ones on the left were laid Monday, after a day where they were just out in the coop run and small extension we have. As Sunday we were out most the day and I like to be careful. The ones on the right were laid today after having a day free in the garden on Monday from around 11am till 3pm (then they had to go back in the run as we weren’t able to keep a close eye on them and had to go out.) I know free ranging is better for the hens welfare and life but can free ranging in the garden really make this much difference to the egg production in 24 hours, or is it more likely just a fluke? Ain't Nobody Here
Lovely eggs . Their eggs can increase in size pretty quickly (but that is a quick increase even so!) I shouldn't think it's the freeranging but you never know .
egbert
I bet both of those eggs from today are double yolkers and tomorrow they will lay eggs of a similar size to yesterdays. That's what has been happening with ours, so I would be interested to know if it's the same with yours!
