I have just had some poultry spice delivered but am not sure how much to put in the food? I have one feeder between 5 girls which is always kept fairly full (as they eat, more food drops down), any advice on how much spice I should mix in with their food?

Its not scientific in my house, I'd say about a teaspoon to that amount of food

yep same here I have a medicine spoon I keep in the pot and use that as a guide.

the package used to say 1 teaspoon to 10 birds mine get 1/4 teaspoon to 300grams of feed about twice a month usally with COL

How often should you feed chicken spice then? My carton implies you can feed it daily.

It depends on which one you use TBH, the Battles one is pretty general and low-performance, so you could probably give it every day.

 

Some of the newer water based ones and powder formulae are best kept for when needed.

 

I find that the chooks peck around the powdered ones and tend to leave them in the bottom of the feeder, so I either mix them in a wet mash, or stick to the liquid forms.

I use the powdery one and give it to them everyday at the minute as three of them are moulting.
