Recommended Posts

You could do 'promises' Liz :?

little tasks on nice paper or made into a cheque book of things you could do for them,

can you cook? as I would love a meal put on the table for me for a change :D hope my guys read this and take the hint  even doing the washing for a week or washing and vacuuming your dads' car?

wouldn't cost anything either :D

Liz i found some lovely knitting kits in the works for £4.99 you can choose from a scarf a pair of slippers or a dogs coat........... :D I love knitting and would be very pleased to recieve a knitting kit, hope this helps.....

I saw those, and laughed at the dog's coat!!! It all looked a bit too simple for Mum though as she's a very good knitter!

Thanks for the website Snowy, but he doens't use Hornby trains and already has a huge track where he goes with his friends at their club.

And anniep, we don't feed wild birds, so can't really buy a big sack of peanuts.

Thanks for the suggestions anyway. You now see why I was getting stuck. Mind you, I'll probably get my Dad to take me up to the little railway shop his friend owns and he'll pick something out. That way he'l get something he wants!

There was something on the radio the other day about giving IOU's for Christmas. You could write out your Dad an 'IOU a christmas present' on some really nice paper, maybe like a gift voucher, and then go and buy something together in the January sales when everything is half price. You get more for you money and your Dad will get exactly what he wants.

When I was stuck for things to buy I used to make things for my parents. Especially when I was studying as money was always tight. You can buy this white modelling clay that you bake in the oven and it goes hard, (any craft shop will sell it. I can't remember the name of it now) and I used to make pin badges and paint them, and Mum and Dad used to wear them on their jackets. I used to make mini guitars actually and super glu a safety pin on the back of them. I also made some rather quirky tea cups and saucers and painted those too! You could make some simple chicken badges!

Whatever you do decide to do, your Dad will love it because it has come from you and he'll know you've spent a lot of time thinking about what to get him.
