ubereglu
I wondered if any of you knew what I could get my Mum and Dad for christmas. So far I've bought my mum some Original Source lavender shower gel and my Dad some chocolate christmas tree truffles. I'm stuck for ideas on what else to get them though. Snowy
i think it might just be a mat where you place the track on it
AnnieP
Liz, I always buy my parents stuff they'll use, as they are really tricky. Do they feed wild birds? How about a giant sack of peanuts or seed, or a new feeder? I think the promise cheque book is a great idea..... might suggest OH does one for me........ ubereglu
Thanks for the website Snowy, but he doens't use Hornby trains and already has a huge track where he goes with his friends at their club. And anniep, we don't feed wild birds, so can't really buy a big sack of peanuts. Thanks for the suggestions anyway. You now see why I was getting stuck. Mind you, I'll probably get my Dad to take me up to the little railway shop his friend owns and he'll pick something out. That way he'l get something he wants! Popcorn
There was something on the radio the other day about giving IOU's for Christmas. You could write out your Dad an 'IOU a christmas present' on some really nice paper, maybe like a gift voucher, and then go and buy something together in the January sales when everything is half price. You get more for you money and your Dad will get exactly what he wants. When I was stuck for things to buy I used to make things for my parents. Especially when I was studying as money was always tight. You can buy this white modelling clay that you bake in the oven and it goes hard, (any craft shop will sell it. I can't remember the name of it now) and I used to make pin badges and paint them, and Mum and Dad used to wear them on their jackets. I used to make mini guitars actually and super glu a safety pin on the back of them. I also made some rather quirky tea cups and saucers and painted those too! You could make some simple chicken badges! Whatever you do decide to do, your Dad will love it because it has come from you and he'll know you've spent a lot of time thinking about what to get him.
