bellekatz
On Saturdy Alfie and I went to Leigh to the North West Cat show. We both had a good time and I came home with 3 firsts and and a third from his 4 classes. He was up against lots of bigger cats than him ( yes they do get even bigger) and he did really well. He alo got first premier certificate from the judge for being the best brown/blue tabby neutered boy there. Only another two to get then he is a Premier, which is the neutered equivilent of a champion. He loves being there and enjoys all the attention and admiring glances and cuddles up to all the judges........ but I must get him a bigger pen next time

Yorkshire Pudding
Oooh well done Alfie . He just gets handsomer and handsomer. I love his ears and his expression. Is he still in kitten classes or is he up against the big boys now? Great results from the classes and a premier certificate too! I'm taking Angus to his first show next month, I feel nervous just thinking about it! And Mandy who bred him has a new litter of brown blue and silver tabbies - and I can't resist having just one more look... perhaps you were right, one is not enough! Good Luck - it's more stressful for the owner than it is for the cat and I am sure Angus will be fine!
Gamebird
Well done Alfie. He obviously enjoys the limelight and it shows.

She is helping with the grooming and sprucing-up too - I keep him reasonably well groomed but I suspect not to showing standard!
Tessa the Duchess
Well done Alfie a true feline star I have no intention of putting Google into a show but I am interested in what judges look for in a Maine Coon, I presume the tufts and tips are important but is there anything else crucial? Tessa
bellekatz
Shape of the body, tufts between the toes, length of the tail and very importantly the profile of the head - strong chin, curve to the nose, position and shape of the eyes, placing of the ears etc etc etc................ Tessa This is the judges report on Alfie: PC, SCANNALI'S DARKTOWER OHIO, 64 41w, MN, 19.10.08 Classic Brown Tabby & White. The baby of the class at just eleven months old, yet this lad already has so much going for him, and he really did impress me. Large ears, very well furnished with tips and tufts, set about an ear's width apart on the head. Very good head development for such a youngster, overall medium in length and already showing good breadth and fairly full cheeks. Bright green eyes, large and set slightly obliquely. Lovely nasal profile, good shallow concave curve. Square muzzle, firm chin of good depth. Long and very weighty body, excellent rectangular shape and super muscle tone. Substantial bone to medium length legs and large round paws. Balanced tail, well furnished and reaching the shoulders. Full ruff around the neck, coat short over the shoulders and increasing down the body, glossy topcoat with some undercoat evident. Warm classic brown tabby, slight brindling present. White to lips, chin, chest, tummy and feet. One to watch for the future as he shows a great deal of promise.
