Rhapsody
An impulse buy at the Farmers' Market! As I'm on WW maintenance pastry is pretty much out of the question- so why did I buy it? I'm a numpty Its a mix of diced partridge pheasant pidgeon and something I've forgotten. The only thing I can think of is to braise in red wine with mushrooms- any other inspiration? The Dogmother
I'd make a stew as well.
Space Chick
I think it would make a lovely casserole Meat browned off with some onions in a little olive oil and then slow cooked in a bottle of red wine sounds divine Serve it with come tasty "no point" veggies and it can be a WW maintenance delight
Rhapsody
In case anyone else is dumb enough to do this to themselves- 1pkt Game Pie Mix for Idiots 1 carrot diced 1 celery stalk diced 1 onion diced 2 rashers bacon cut to lardons 4 whole cloves garlic 1 pkt small mushrooms Half bottle red wine 1/2 pint Chicken stock 1 tsp Season-all 1 sprig fresh rosemary Splash Balsamic vinaigre tbsp unrefined sugar. Method # Buy Game Pie Mix at Farmers Market because you have no willpower. # Go home and panic at possible calorie-laden nightmare and cling, sobbing, to new Diesel skinny jeans. #Go on Omlet forum. #Allow Claret and Space Chick to talk you down off the ledge. # Fry lardons carrot celery onion in a spray of oil in a Cruset pan or similar with lid. # Add Season-All and rosemary #Add mushrooms #In goes the wine, boil off alcohol #Add everything else #Put on lid and stick in oven on low heat for 2 hours. # Make mustard mash to go with. It tastes good! I'll reheat it later for supper. Phew.
