I remember my mother being dead against me getting mine done, I finally took myself to get them pierced when I was 13. She promptly got her own ears done a week later

I went off and had mine pierced on impulse when I was about 15. I didn't consider it might be an issue with my mother. She was furious and didn't speak to me for 2 weeks

I was 13 when I had my ears pierced the first time. I had second holes when I was 15 but soon decided I didn't like the two earrings in each side so I let the second ones close up. Then I had the top of my ear and my bb done when I was 30.

I had mine done when I was 8 and there was a huge collusion between my mum and her friends as Dad had said no till I was 16! Mum's friend's husband pretended there was something wrong with the car and he needed his help so we could go shopping without him!!!! I came back with them done and guess what? He didn't notice!!!!!!!

I had to wait till I was 16 before mum would let me have mine done, it was less usual then as I recall for little girls to have pierced ears but these days they all seem to have them.

I do recall a girl at school doing her own ear with a compass

 

My niece had her nose pierced recently (to add to the top lip, bottom lip, tongue, and three holes in each ear) - as this is a family forum, I cannot repeat exactly what her dad said, but it was extremely uncomplimentary! Just as well he doesn't know about the OTHER piercing she has ...

Hmmm, I have a friend with an 'intimate piercing', now I'm not at all squeamish, but the thought of it makes me shudder.
