Space Chick
Happy Halloween guys I've had a very busy morning, Phil and I cleaned the WIR first thing (started at 8.30am and took until 10), then had a shower, went to the garage (Phil is having car problems again ), went to see Grandad and have been to see 2 friends aswell, delivering eggs I could do with a nap now

Lewis
I was just about to say the say the same ... and the trugs are the right way up Just deciding who to take to school on Wed - definately Purkinje maybe Theodore or Nugget. Theodore lives separately so they may not be best of friends, but Nugget is moulting so looks really scruffy and is grumpy Pox would be straight out the door - I've never seen a chicken run so fast! Space Chick
There is nothing like fresh hemcore However, there will be poo and dustbath dirt over it in no time I'd take Nugget aswell Lewis, as you can explain about moulting too
Lewis
Ahh, good call Might take all 3 because Theodore will be well behaved if the other 2 aren't ... as long as there is food about and I've printed off the ex-batt living size that I'll stand her on to show how little space they actually have - its laminated so can wipe clean
Space Chick
Good call, you'd want to put a hybrid on the "Battery Cage" and not a bantam so that people are under no illusion of size. Well I went for a nap I have now started on the chocolate we bought for any trick or treat children
Lewis
We've just had our 1st trick or treatrs - a ghost + a witch. The other people have arrived so we have a bin-bag zombie thing, ET, a zombi bride, 90's chav, another zombie woman and not sure what the other one is
Valkyrie
Sounds fun. Erin had a good day at the Hospice shop. She came home with huge stitched scars and spiders all over her face. She had the job of facepainting, so she face painted one of her colleagues (an elderly lady) and gave her a pair of bat spectacles - she looked really funny. Murray said to the lady in charge (who was dressed as a witch - like most of the other helpers, apart from one ghost) "you didn't make an effort then?" She had a green face and purple hair - good costume too. So she said "what are you supposed to be then?" Rinse! Popped into the pet shop on the way home, I wanted to see if they had any chicken stuff as Verm X was being advertised on the door. Spoke to a girl in her early 20's. I was looking for some tonic or some such to see what they had. She asked why, so I told her it was a pickmeup for moulting. Chickens don't moult she said. I told her yes they do so she decided it was just a certain breed that moulted. Turns out she has had chickens for years and not one of theirs moulted - ever. By that time I gave up the will to live, said never mind, thanks for the help. Even wild birds moult - me too, and the trees moult really badly, and the evergreens are more discreet as we scuffed our way through the leaves on the way home, laughing. Girls tucked up in bed and the nest box is empty of chickens. We haven't barriered tonight to see what happens. The china eggs are still in situ. Hint hint girls. There a special ramble for Scramble. PS I should add that the bat specs were filled in completely with black so that the lady's little white parts of her eye showed up really well! Space Chick
Well I have had a trick or treat visit (little boy with his Dad - one of our neighbours) and when I handed over the chocolate he asked "Can I have an egg instead please" - Bless him

Valkyrie
Nice evening - watched "Get Smart" - I remember the TV series just about (and the tune). Thought the film would be a bit on the awful side, but I was so wrong, I laughed most of the way through (squealed at some really yukky funny bits) and my poor sides ache. Then Erin thought Murray was in the kitchen, so she jumped out and went "BOO!" That's one heart attack for mumsie (er my mumsie that is - not me)! Valkyrie
Stupid birds out in the wind and rain - apart from the really daft Squirt, who is tucked nicely in the greenhouse and dry! Morning all - s'all dark here. Someone was bokking early this morning - still no eggs and the nest box wasn't slept in last night. There is a recipe for making Clooties in Home Farmer. Cloned Clootie!

Space Chick
Our Clootie is one of a kind We've had 6 eggs so far today Although someone slept in the nesting box I have a really bad migrane today, don't know if its the atmosphere, but I struggled eating my poached egg on toast for breakfast. I am meant to be going to Cardiff this afternoon as we have a game, but won't be going if my head is still like this I also have to sort out the treadle feeder as it was looking low yesterday, and I am going to add more limestone flour than usual as Babs and Polly have laid a few softies recently. Valkyrie
Ooh poor Debs - my dad suffered for years (fortunately it seems to have missed me). Could be atmospherics - low on the barometer = squashed achey head. Well as far as clooties go, I may have a go considering you didn't mention flatulence. I'm running away for a while, hope to be back later. TTFN
