francesca88
Hello For over a week now my meadowsweet ranger has been unable to use her right leg. She just stands in the garden with her leg lifted up and her toes (claws??) hanging down. She can't grip my finger with that foot, whereas with her good foot she can. If I throw some corn on the floor she will hobble over, but with great difficulty - she falls over every couple of steps with her wings spread out. She hasn't lost her appetite at all and is still drinking, although she has turned dangerously thin (she has been wormed, both with Panacur and Flubenvet), and her poos are mostly normal. I have felt all her toes and leg joints and none of them seem to be hurting her. At the moment I am just really worried that it may be Marek's, although she is supposed to be vaccinated. Does any one have any ideas??
Christian
Unlikely to be Mareks, but as she hasn't been able to walk for a week, I would take her to the vet asap. Hope she is better soon.
clucky h
Strange. Could it be broken? In any case, I too think a trip to the vet seems the best policy. I hope that she gets better soon. x

francesca88
I think you're all right, another trip to the vets I think I just thought it was strange that she doesn't object to me moving it around?
chelsea
You might find she has pulled something or has some ligament damage. Our Acorn has ligament damage to one of her legs and has been to the vets several times (bless him he never charges us because he likes doing it! ) and she is wearing a splint that the vet has made. She is getting very slowly better but the vet said it would take a long time to heal. She is still eating, drinking, laying and trying to run around as normal.
