Eglus for guinea pigs and chickens

Recommended Posts

I am sure someone will know the answer.

The other day DD mentioned getting some guinea pigs in the spring for her two girls (children not chickens :D ). Is the guinea pig eglu the same basic design as the chicken one but with a different base? In the future, thinking ahead here, can you convert it so that it can be used for chickens?

Does anyone have any views on the eglu as a guinea pig home? Is the rabbit one the same but with a longer run?

Thanks

Yes, it has a bottle holder & feeder station inside too In the future, thinking ahead here, can you convert it so that it can be used for chickens?Yes

Does anyone have any views on the eglu as a guinea pig home? Not yet, I've bought a base to attach to my (blue eglu) once the Bufflings move on or into the big run Is the rabbit one the same but with a longer run? Yes I think so

Thanks

Hope this helps to a small degree, I am planning to get DD a couple of piggies once the (blue eglu) is vacant..........I think DH is working on the theory that if there's another inhabitant, I won't get any more chooks :lol: that's what he thinks!!!

Hi

The Rablu and guinlus are exactly the same inside. The run on the Rablu is 2m and on the guinlu half of that.

You can buy the convertor to make them chook eglus...my Guinlu currently house two little baby pekins...they are so small they perch on the edge of the bowl hole :D

Brie and Onion, the cuckoo pekins....they are still so small! Raison still wants to eat them everytime they free range together so this is a VERY slow introduction!

Thanks Egluntyne I had looked but I wanted to check my understanding was correct.

The rabbit and guinea pig eglus are the same but with different length runs and then in the future it could be converted for chickens. I like to plan ahead :D

Grandaughter likes pink so I will keep an eye on ebay, may be lucky before the spring comes around.
