docsquid Posted October 26, 2009 Share Posted October 26, 2009 I wonder if anybody else has chickens who show off? I must get the video camera out tonight because last night Gwennie was hillarious. First of all, she sussed out the new log we'd put in the run, and was just running round doing laps of the run, and showing how she could jump over the log, and then how if you perch on a certain place you can make it rock like a see-saw which she seemed to like. Then when they were going to bed, she did her usual thing of showing the rest of the chooks the way up the ladder. But when they'd all got into the Cube, and I thought they'd gone to bed, Gwennie came out again, and almost did a dance - up and down the ladder, doing pirouettes on the rungs, and seeing how far up she could fly and land. It was extremely funny. It went on for a few minutes before she settled down in the Cube for the night. I'd swear she was either showing off to us, or showing the others how it is really done. Sort of like a kid who can do tricks on a BMX showing off to his mates who have only just learned to ride without stabilisers Are all chickens show-offs? docsquid Posted October 26, 2009 Author Share Posted October 26, 2009 I just managed to video tonight's ritual - similar to last night, perhaps not quite so funny (except when all three tried to go up the ladder together), but Gwennie did THREE encores!
