Dianeuk
one of my hens has managed to escape today I will give her 24 hrs to make it back if she has the sense? But for future reference does anyone know of a hen breeder in Kent where I could get pol pullets?
ubereglu
Oh dear. There is a post on the top of this page named recommend your local breeder here and it contains a list of them. I hope she returns though.
The Dogmother
Try the back pages of Practical Poultry mag, they have breeders listed in there by region.

chocchick
Did she make it back? Hope you find her, or a lovely new chicken. Sorry, nowhere near Kent. My Welsummer tried to make a bid for freedom on day 2. We ended up shutting her away in the omlet run alone for a day or so rather than freeranging with the others and she's staying put now
The Dogmother
Once they realise that they're better off where they are, they lose the inclination to hop over the fence. All of mine have clipped wings but are probably capable of making it over the fences (which they did at first), but they seem happy to stay at home now.
