gooner.girl
Hummmm. I don't think there is a cure for that unfortunatly, ours is just as bad, i live in hope that it will be better in the summertime and we don't really use the garden in the winter anyway! mr.coli
thanks. i have been wondering lately that if i had bantams the problem might not be as prolific? but then again they could be worse? what u think
One Man Banned
Claret has bantam's and her garden is hardly affected by them at all as they aren't so keen to scratch unlike full size hens. I'm sure she'll pop her head in here soon and fill you in on the details A
Martin B
thanks. i have been wondering lately that if i had bantams the problem might not be as prolific? but then again they could be worse? what u think If you compared my garden to Claret's you would see that Bantams cause much less damage than big hens. Bantams are a good way to go if you want to keep the lawn in good condition.

The Dogmother
Thanks Martin and Andrew Yes, bantams are far less destructive, but pure breeds will lay less eggs than hybrids, sometimes none at all in the winter. The only damage to my garden is where I trudge up and down to let them out. Oh, and they ate the herbs (now under netting) and the campanula! Martin has seen my garden; I have a lawn
