Chick-a-doodle-doo
Sorry the photo's arn't very big. My other light sussex is like your top picture, Tom. But my other has definately got a different tail but not quite as fancy as your bottom pic. It's my sons fault for calling her Geoff!! I didn't mind when I thought she was a girl but will be so worried if it is a boy.
Woodcat
hey it's not easy to see because of the size of photos and i'm not an expert but i would have said that looks girlie to me. Shes holding her tail at a different angle but http://www.warrenphotographic.co.uk/mdh/06716.htm somtimes they do it doesn't look like the feathers are sweaping like the cockrels do. The most obvious indications are the headgear which look way to small for a cockrel of that age and the feathers round the neck which are more pointed in cockrels http://www.powerpoultry.co.uk/files/listingmodule/@random4941b827d725d/1230916298_Seb.jpg which i can't see. With bigger photos you could get more diffinitive answers but in your position i wouldn't be panicing Beth
