My babies have gone

Recommended Posts

:(

As the three ducks had become HUGE, it was becoming clear to me that I couldn't give them the kind of life that they deserved. We took them on as ducklings on the understanding that they would eventually live with the in-laws but I had got rather attached to them.

My in-laws have prepared a section of their field for them and they took them earlier today.

I know that they will be better off with grass and more space, etc.

Still :( though.

It was a really tough decision.

I felt it tonight when I went out to close up all the eglus, etc and fill up the water tubs for the morning.

:(

I always said that they would move to the in-laws if I felt that I couldn't give them what they needed though. Still doesn't make it any easier.

What next?

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I think I am just going to concentrate on my little monsters.

I have the pekin chicks to keep me occupied at the moment. They are two weeks old tomorrow and Wednesday.

I've also got Scary Spice to fatten up after her illness. Her and Lauren, the other cochin are currently in the hole that was the duck pond digging for worms.

:D
