Free Range Duvet

Recommended Posts

Don't know if it's already been said, but we've bought wool duvets. I can strongly recommend them and no they don't smell of sheep. We got pillows too, us girls have a lavender filled pouch inside with just a gentle smell.

I really do recommend them.

Thank you for those links Lesley and Claire. The cost of the camel hair one was rather off-putting!

I phoned Cologne and Cotton to ask them for more details about the welfare of the birds whose down is used in their quilts. The chap I spoke to there tried to put the question to someone from the company from whom they buy the duvets.............and guess what - "Ooops, word censored!"ody was available to speak to him - they were ALL in meetings or something.........and they must never have got back to the guy at Cologne and Cotton, 'cos he has never got back to me :?

Anyway, I do have a lovely new duvet but it's a synthetic one made by Christy, which they call a 'Just Like Down Duvet' and it does feel like goose down, so I'm very happy :)

The funny thing is though that I couldn't enjoy it for the first couple of nights, 'cos I've had a dreadful persistent cough and had to decamp to the spare room so that my husband could get any sleep :D:D:D

bit slow here but just to say that if you want silk that is harvested after the silk worm has become a moth and left the coccoon you need to look for Tussah Silk. It's not as soft because the fibres are much shorter due to the insect eating it's way out and breaking the fibres.
