perching at night

Recommended Posts

this might sound a daft question

does it matter if 3 or my girls sleep facing the wall of the coop as apposed to sleeping with they’re backs to the wall?

I’m thinking it’s started to get cold and I’m concerned about them getting they’re combs /heads damp then if the temperature drops below freezing latter in the night that they might get frostbite. Your thoughts would be welcome please

No such thing as a daft question.

I wouldn't be too concerned to be honest, some people's chickens perch, some do not and some sleep in the nest box - so they are all different. Chickens are also hardier than you think - all those feathers are really the ideal winter duvet, and out there somewhere in the wilds some chickens roost outside in trees so your girls really sleep in luxury! :D
