Leicester_H
Hi Just wondering if Lily has a problem (I AM paranoid so bear with me please) Just got home and Lily is wet down the front of here neck - slighly brown in colour (shows up on her brilliant white weathers) - just wondered if she'd brought up some crop contents ? No obvious smell. I think she was like this the other day. In ALL other ways, she is fine - eating, drinking, laying, running around and generally being fiesty. Any suggestions/idea welcomed, Thanks in advance, H
Falkor
Snowball, my all white Amber Star is currently sporting a brown bib.......mainly down to trying to dust bath in a muddy puddle Could she just be a mucky pup too? I would keep an eye on her and check her crop in the morning to make sure it is empy and then when she has gone to bed to make sure it is full but if she is active, eating and drinking she sounds fine. Monitor the situation is my suggestion,
Space Chick
Both my white chooks are also looking rather brown in the bib department too from drinking from muddy puddles earlier If she's seeming herself, I wouldn't panic yet, and follow Ems sound advice

Monitor the situation is my suggestion, Hi - yes - I think thats probably the case - just needed some reassurance - thanks. Being white, everything does show up on her. I've seen her back feathers edged with brownish marks - I suspect the neck is the same. OH is under orders to keep a close eye on her today. But she does seem fine. Thanks all, H
The Dogmother
Keeping an eye is the best course. Chooks don't have a gag reflex, so can't be sick, but in severe cases of sour crop, it can spill back out when they put their heads down.... with the attendant risk of inhaling it. You'd know if she had sour crop though - it would be distended and squashy like a balloon full of water.

If I could grab her, I would !! I'll try to get home before she's gone to bed tonight - she won't like it!!!!!!!! H
The Dogmother
It'll be easier to grab eher when they've gone into roost and are a bit dopey.

Leicester_H
Could she just be a mucky pup too? I think this is/was the answer. Haven't picked her up yet (she 'hates' it) but her neck is clean, eating & drinking fine. Just paranoid owner!! Thanks all, H
