In my garden there are no trees, so getting hold of decent sized fallen branches is a bit of a stuggle, next door have a huge tree which my WIR is under, during really really windy weather i have managed to salvage a single branch (more like a big twig) that the girls can perch on in the run.

 

Where would i get branches from, without having to chop the off tree myself and where could i get logs from?? i could go to my local counrty park, but the car park is about a half mile walk from the actual forest, via a lake etc, so cant really see myself lugging logs and huge branches from there to the car...

 

any suggestions??

Why not speak to a local tree surgeon? He might be prepared to save a couple of branches for you.

Tree surgeon or try local farms as they often have a bit of woodland attached.

My neighbour keeps lobbing branches over for me, can you ask around. The other place is a recycling centre you can pick up all sorts. Logs are nice but you can buy treated timber and use that.

You local tip is the best bet around here they have a whole area dedcated to trees

I've used an old broom handle and even a shower curtain pole in the run as a perch........

 

Logs I just find walking in the local kids park or woods. Is it definately a branch you want for a natural look in your run...... what about plant pots filled with earth, old car tyre, or I'm sure I saw ANH had ikea shoe racks...

We have broom handles, IKEA shoe rack, IKEA foot stool and a log. I also got told that if we go to our council depot they have a pile of stuff free to the public that their tree people have cut down - might be worth asking if yours do the same.
