mabelandflosmum
Hello everyone, I am new to the forum but just wondered if anyone else has chickens that chase away delivery men? My 2, Mabel and Flo saw off the vegetable box man, he left the shed open and a trail of empty boxes as he ran out of the garden! All they wanted was the sunflower hearts I keep in there for the wild birds

Chicken Shirl
Hello, welcome to the forum I can just see it, what a shot that would have made. One of my hens has to be put away when anyone comes to the garden, she thinks she is a dog and goes for their ankles and feet. Not so funny though when you are at the other end of it. She is a doll with us.
docsquid
Ours gave one of our friends a bit of a surprise. He didn't know they had arrived, and came in the back gate instead of the front door. He had three chickens running at him all a-flap and a-bok-bok! All they wanted were some chicky-treats! We used to have guard-geese on the agricultural unit at Uni and they were very effective but not very discriminating - students and crooks were all the same to them. Never seen a guard chicken though!
mostin
, what a mental picture. I can just imagine their enthusiam, and then their disgruntled bokking as he left without even giving them any treats .

ChrisEllis
hehe that sounds like fun - having chickens that chase off postman etc. i can imagine it now sitting in the front room with the family and laughing as the hens chase! Our chickens are quite strange - one of our polands always starts to jump on the silkies when it is near me when I go in the pen - the poland loves me every morning he has his food and then i'll put my arm out andh e'll jump up and run onto my shoulder whilst i go round and check the coop for damp and move the wood shavings chickens can have the most biggest characteristics
