Richard T
Why thank you I think Richard should do one from the Kent perspective, what say you? Apparently buying a farm is THE smart property move in the South East. I've thought about it, but just haven't had the time. The Hen Pen - or Chicken World as HP calls it, not surprisingly - arrived on Tuesday, but I've not had a chance to unpack it yet, let alone assemble it. And I've got too many things already on the to-do list for tomorrow so I won't be able to look at the Hen Pen tomorrow either. If we're lucky and get back from our half-marathon in good time on Sunday I might be able to make a start. The clocks go forward this weekend so it should be light until at least half past seven. Guest
It might be light, but we're losing an hour's sleep and you will have run 13 miles! Won't you be a bit tired?

I'm always tired Ginette. But I've found that after a long run it's always a good idea to keep moving. The legs don't feel half as bad the next day. Anyway, I managed to make a start on the Hen Pen. I built one section out of three - but it's a bit like Ikea stuff where there's more than one bit that's the same. You might take a while to work out how to do the first bit, but once you've done it you can do the other bits pretty quickly. By the way, neither HP nor I won the half marathon. It was in Reading. On the way back, driving on the A329(M)(?) we saw what looked like a couple of red kites Anyone know if there are red kites in that area? Louise
I think there are quite a few red kites in the Thames Valley area as they get seen quite regularly on the M40 near Stokenchurch is that anywhere nearby
Cinnamon
Richard,I am between Reading & Henley & there are heaps of Red Kites around here. There was a breeding programme a while back, & now they are very much part of the landscape for many, many miles around the Reading area. There were 6 of them flying low over the house & garden the other day, making their Jurassic Park type squarks to each other They nest in the trees in woods behind my house, & sometimes swoop down really low in the garden or on the roads - they are absolutly massive!
