craftyhunnypie
Oh drat! I've been knitting a hat on circular needles & realised after quite a few rows, that it is now got a twist in it. I am not a happy bunny at all, as it was looking so nice & all the different colours in the wool were starting to form good stripes. I know I'm going to have to rip it apart & start again - please help me feel a bit better about doing this. It's not like me. Any tips as to how to avoid it twisting the next time? Couperwife
oh no I dont know, except, keep checking before you start on the first row that you dont have a twist which is what you are going to do now anyway, so that doesnt help does it. (((hugs))) will you start again now? or will you throw it in the bag and leave it until you are calm cathy x

Chucky Mama
Oh poor you, I don't have any tips but know how you feel. The number of times I have angrily pulled a piece of knitting apart arms flailing in fury after spotting a mistake rows and rows before, it is so annoying
chickweed
I always knit the first row on ordinary knitting needles, (sometimes two rows), then transfer the stitches to double pointed needles to avioid this problem. When finished, the little "step" can be sewn up using the tail of wool left at the beginning. I'm sure it would work when using circular needles. craftyhunnypie
Well after much foul language - I was still up at 12.30am knitting. But I wasn't doing the circular knitting. I pulled it apart & started on a scarf from the same wool. I thought it would make me feel better. I will try the circulars again later today. riane
I know just how you feel. I am making socks for OH for Christmas. I am not a brilliant knitter at the best of times so what made me think I could do socks Anyway I have started and undone the sock 5 times!!!. However I am now on the second sock and I am determined to finish them by midnight Christmas Eve. I wil not be beaten by two round bits of plastic and a length of wool!I wil not be beaten by two round bits of plastic and a length of wool!I wil not be beaten by two round bits of plastic and a length of wool!I wil not be beaten by two round bits of plastic and a length of wool!I wil not be beaten by two round bits of plastic and a length of wool!aghhhhhhhhh
Chucky Mama
I tried socks on a circular needle and couldn't get on with them so use 4 double ended jobs instead and I find it much easier (on my 5th pair now).
craftyhunnypie
The hat is for me - I love hats & fell in love with this wool. I'm going to have another go when I have total peace - ie: no cat or hubby around! Emma.x
