Hi all,

My nephew has put down some Tarpaulin for when i get my chooks back,

we are now thinking of some substrate.

My cousin used Woodchip for 3 hen's and he said it started to smell really bad after a couple of days,my uncle also used it for his garden and the same happened to him so he stopped using it.

I would use hemp, but we don't have clear tarp or a shower curtain (last shower curtain got ripped of in the wind).

So is there any other substrate i could use that'll help with smells & that's pretty cheap?

Thanks

and use some bungees to keep it on and I use bulldog clips and a few bricks on top when it's really windy and sometimes a plank as well. Right mess my garden but the girls are fine

Woodchip didn't smell in my run, I had it down for 3 months last winter with just partial shading :? use hemcore and easibed now which are lovely. :D
