Pimping the Introduction Coop

Recommended Posts

In my continuing quest to acquire some new friends for eadie, have finally managed to purchase a coop unfortunately it's not as chicken friendly as I would like managed to fit bed room with spare set of eglu roosting bars but do I need a nesting area, if so the area available is about 35" x 10", any ideas on what I could use?

It comes with its own run and it will be put in the WIR, so they can get used to each other. Have decided on two, maybe a light sussex and a fening cou cou.

As ever am counting on your good advice omleteers!

Regards Theresa

I would put the bars nearer the entrance and in the area that is darkest in the house just put a small box lined with something and bedding as a nesting area. :D Perhaps a shallow flower pot would do but when you first get the chickens they may not be laying.

Mine hadn't started laying when I got them but worried because the house was so small so I took the roosting bar out during the day. With the size of your house you should be ok :D
