rufusrooster
ive installed lighting inside the wir and outside above the cube, they only have 60w low energy bulbs in and they are for my benefit, i can now see what im doing before i got to work and if its dark when i get home, filling food and water etc, wondered if anyone else has lighting in there wir ? what surprised me is late afternoon when ive got home from work and been pottering about as its starting to get dark i have the lights on, makes no difference to the girls, they go to bed at the same time even with the light on there obviously not as daft as we thought they where, no fooling them
Redwing
Yes I have solar lighting its very good I also have some of those LED spot-it lights dotted about which do a reasonable job Most of the coops are n darkness though so a good torch is a must! Chook n Boo Mum
what surprised me is late afternoon when ive got home from work and been pottering about as its starting to get dark i have the lights on, makes no difference to the girls, they go to bed at the same time even with the light on there obviously not as daft as we thought they where, no fooling them I have one of my batties indoors at the mo as she is not coping with the subzero temps & despite our movements & lights being on in "her" room, she goes to bed at dusk & is basically still & silent until the next morning at dawn....we are up before her thumping about & letting the dogs out etc...she gets up at her own pace bless her I may have to look into some solar lights for the WIR for next year as hopefully a proper roof will be fitted sooooooon Sha x
