Hi

I have just bought a new Eglu Classic (well a month ago), and have just properly cleaned it for the first time and notice that the bottom (underneath the roosting bars) has corroded or something similar - full of little holes in a patch about 3" square. I could poke my finger through it.

Clearly I will call Omlet on Monday and ask them to sort it, but any ideas what has made this happen? Surely chook poo hasnt done this?? Its under the poo-tray anyway....

Thanks

Chris

Oh, and hi! First post with a problem

I have a purple eglu classic with a ginger-nut and a pepperpot.

did you notice any pitting or holes in the tray before now? If not then is could be something nibbling at the plastic to get in. You might want to lift the eglu and see if there are any tunnels underneath.

welcome to the forum and don't fret about your first question-posting, there have been some howlers from all of us so yours is very sensible by comparison!

Welcome to the forum :D

Not heard of the problem like that either  ... a photo would be good :)

I had my new Go delivered last week and there were scratches on the underneath and red panels, I sent Omlet some photos and they sent me replacements which arrived this week - really good customer service :D

I had exactly the same problem with my classic back in September last year. I phoned Omlet, sent them a picture and they came back saying it was a fault in production and should never have been sent out. They replaced it within a couple of days so you shouldn't have any problems getting this sorted.

yep, i know what that is......its porousity caused when the plastic is cured. :(

the go`s are made in china by injection moulding so that is how they are lighted than the classic and the plastic is thinner.

the classics are made in this country by a different method which if the plastic is cured too fast you get air bubbles in the plastic and this makes the plastic porous. :?
