Alis girls
If we holiday in this country - it will possibly be Cornwall, Devon or Dorset. preferably self catering with some facilities - we like farms which do hols as a sideline. have a 14 and 8 yr old boys also. We like the countryside, coast etc. Any ideas or places any of you can recommend would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance
theherd123
We went to Old Cotmore Farm last year and had a lovely time. It is quite rural and you do need a car to get anywhere but the countryside was beautiful and the cottage very peaceful. Google 'Old Cotmore Farm' for more details
chelsea
We've been to Barn Farm in Cornwall many times and stayed in "The Linhay". http://www.barnfarmholidays.co.uk/linhay.htm It's near the North Coastal town of Port Isaac and just set outside a small village. The farmer is very friendly and lets you wander around his fields. He has a couple of home made fishing lakes and even took my OH out clay pigeon shooting one evening. Easy to get to other places by car/close to the coast and also within walking distance to village shop and pub.

Busybird
We stayed at The Lodge cottage at Beaconside House in Devon a few years ago and had a lovely week. The facilities included an indoor and an outdoor pool, hot tubs, tennis court, playground and private woodland. The cottage was spacious and very clean. Details on www.beaconsidehouse.co.uk. It is close to a cycle path (athough you do have to cycle a little way down a busy road to get to it) that we used to get to beaches which were clean and not to busy as well as to some local towns and attractions. We do a lot of cycling and walking anyway so this was ideal. It is not cheap but, from our experience, no cottage holiday is. This is why we now camp - but the children loved Beaconside and have asked several times if we can go back. The owners were very friendly and they had chickens in the woods
