jimnpaula
One of my ex batts hasn't got the hang of this nest-laying-thang. This means there is always an egg in the run.... sometimes near the front where I can reach it, but sometimes further back (If it's right at the back I can put the cube wheels down and reach under the skirt, but that's still not very pleasant this time of year.) Has anyone got some good egg grabbing devices for such scenarios? I was wondering about golf ball retrievers, but not sure how they work or if they would be gentle enough. Raina
One of my girls (Orakiah) started to lay her eggs in the run So i used a dogs tennis ball slinger to scoop it up http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dog-Ball-Thrower-Tennis/dp/B001I0RM3O/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2/279-4929433-7873913?ie=UTF8&qid=1263819126&sr=8-2-fkmr0 When i saw her starting to get ready to lay in the run i would go out, pick her up,put her in the nest box and lock her in the eglu now she goes there everytime to lay

Eggasperated
One of mine lays in the run 90% of the time. I know she knows where the nest box is as she lays there occasionally. Its not to do with anyone else being in it I just think she's more interested in whats going on and doesn't want to miss anything by going in the nest box AND OF COURSE she always lays in the most inaccessible part of the run
