Omletina Kyckling
Åsa, my little leghorn/sussex cross has come back into lay today following her moult. I expected her to stop laying until March at the earliest, as she's a pure breed like my other leghorn and my welsummer, who have also moulted and stopped laying. I'd missed getting cuddles from her, because with the moult, came the shrinking of the comb and no crouching, so she kept running off when I went near her. I knew things were looking up earlier this week when she suddenly crouched for me! One of my original Omlet girls has suddenly come into lay after being off laying for about 8 months, I thought she'd given up for good, to be honest. I note from other posts, that lots of other people's girlies have started laying again....probably they are so pleased that the snow has gone! Egluntyne
A few of mine are back in lay. I've noticed that they are eating huge amounts and are less skittish. We are up to half a doz eggs a day instead of a couple.
