chocchick
I wish I lived nearby, I love the breeds of chickens they have. I notice you've posted in "chickens" despite talking about the gift shop, hmm was it really the chickens you were looking at?

Looney
You've got to go Chelsea! And then do the "mmm, which one do you like best" line of questioning so it almost seems as though it was your OHs idea........

chelsea
Ive narrowed it down to a wyandotte or a buff orpington, but they all look lovely. Hubby thinks we're just going for lunch and a wander around (told him over tea)... I've got it all planned folks

Beauty-Box
Well done! Hope you will be able to choose what breed when you get there, I think I would struggle. But then I always have been indecisive!

chelsea
do you think its wise adding a 3rd chicken to an already established pair?? Hubby's main concern is that the other 2 are very settled and he doesnt want to break their two-some up ! Can I fit 4 in an eglu?
hillfamily
Can I fit 4 in an eglu? Absolutely Having introduced extra chickens i would strongly recommend adding 2 at a time. Much less streesful for all concerned as they have a friend in each other and the pecking is shared between them

bridgy chooks
We got our chickens from the DTB centre in August last year. We live within a reasonable distance so we took them home with us. They did get a cold to start with...maybe from the stress of the move as they obviously havn't moved before. They soon got over it though and are healthy chickens now with fab characters! They have lots of fantastic chickens there, lots of traditional breeds (hence the name). They were also adding more enclosures when we were there. They have a prices section on their website which also states availability. They can provide hatching eggs and it says that there is also a carrier service for birds. When looking through the galleries on Omlet I have seen that someone has taken some pictures at the DTB centre...is worth a view
