mineral powder or poultry spice

Recommended Posts

Which one do you use?

in the past i have used poultry spice but some mineral powder recently and smells the same but is a deep orange colour rather than grey.

too early to tell if there are any benifits, i am trying all i can as i recently lost 2 girls and not sure why.

but any way which of the two do you use and why?

Yes i was thinking of trying Lifeguard but as you say it is very expensive, it amazes me sometimes the price of these things.

Chickens are supposed to be easy and cheap to keep but the more you learn and look at the different products the more expensive and complicated keeping chickens seems!

What happened to the good old days when they used to roam freely round the farm eating s"Ooops, word censored!"s and roosting where ever they are when dusk falls.

though my girls are worth the extra effort and pampering :-)

I love the smell of the NetTex product. :D

Another excellent product is Lifeguard Poultry Tonic, which you add to the drinking water. A bit pricey though.

I use both too and find them to be better than the old Battles product - also, they don't stain everything pink!

If you have a very poorly chook, then the NetTex Nutri-drops are very good (Tasha likes them too) but they're not cheap.

I have used both, but mine don't like the Net-tex - it's that wonderful clove/nutmeg/cinnamon smell is just so yummy. My birds are just blooming fussy and they will have to put up with it until it runs out - then they'll probably wish they had the nice smelly one when I go back to the bland stuff.
