iandjsmum
Hi I have a forsham cottage ark which is lovely but I am a bit worried about going away on holiday. If I got an eglu go would I be able to load it easily into the boot of the car (estate) and take it to a friend's house for the purpose of 'chicken sitting'? Are they quite light or do they weigh a tonne? How many would it take to lift and would I be able to set it up quickly in someone's garden? Sorry for all the questions but it's just a thought (rather expensive I know!) at the moment. Of course the temptation would be to fill it with more chickens! chelsea
That is why I love my eglu so much as opposed to the cube. I can lift the eglu easily and especially when it's in pieces and it will fit in the back of an estate car no problem. We take our eglu to my sister's when she chicken sits and our cube stays here. Ain't Nobody Here
The individual pieces are easy for one person to lift and it's a matter of seconds to put the eglu together . It's the run that would be a bit fiddly, especially if you had to take all the clips off. It's perfectly do-able though, especially if it was only once or twice a year . Lewis
They're easy enough to lift We collected ours from Wiltshire and got the eglu in the back and the dismantled run with a bale of shaving and 2 feed bags! Someone was sitting in the back too, but it is a big enough car - ford s-max.
Falkor
Yep, very easy to move about - trust me I am a shorty weedling and i manage! As ANH said the only fiddly part would be the run clips but I use cable ties......snip snip to undo and cheap as chips if you buy lots!
