CAMPYLOBACTER: Anyone else had it?

DD's thirteenth birthday is coming up and she has said that she would like a Murder Mystery party. We had one for our friends on New Year's Eve the year before last and she saw that we all had a pretty good time.

 

I have been having a look at some of the Boxed Sets and some downloads on various sites but I just wondered whether any of you had any experience of these for teenagers and whether there were any that you could recommend.

 

The ones that I have done have been fairly adult in content so I don't think that they would be suitable.

My friends did one before christmas, just the girls.

They dressed up and made a huge effort, some of them were dressed up like men

One person didn't really bother and they said it kind of ruined it, but they kept making jokes about it so was fine

 

The boxed ones look good, and you can get loads of different themed ones, so should be ok for teenagers.

It certianly does make it more fun when people make the effort. There will be about ten people taking part in this one and a mixture of girls and boys. I can see the girls being more enthusiastic than the boys but DD seems to think that they will go for it! I will have another look at some of the boxed sets. Thanks.

My friend had a MM party and it was absolutely brill, we all arrived in character and did the accents and everything, one of the best evenings ever

 

It was a DVD one

 

I will try and find out who made it, the quality was very good

Jlo, my daughter is having one next week for her 14th so I will let you know how it goes - the one I have got is called Death by Chocolate but I am sure you have seen the websites which do ones for kids/ teens so you will have some ideas. There are only 8 in this one and only girls coming but they are all very keen to dress up.

I have one that I bought off ebay. It is a download for a 'Search For A Star' murder mystery. Everyone came as a pop star. I think I used it when she was about 11 - It was recommended for over 10 year olds. I am sure that you could adapt it a bit for slightly older children. I did one of these last year for ED's 15th, it was a great hit with all who came, and also ED's food tech teacher who heard all about it

 

It was an Italian based theme and gave rough menu ideas, the only thing I needed to change was convert wine to fruit drinks

 

It has a tape rather than a CD, but if you would like it I can pop it in the post for you, as once they have been done it's difficult to use them again. Comes with all the instructions which ED and here friends (appart from one who insisted on shouting out with great regularity "Idon't know what to do" )
