rufusrooster Posted January 29, 2010 Share Posted January 29, 2010 i am looking to buy some clear tarps from Tarpaflex but when i try to checkout im getting a window stating there is a problem with the website's security certificate, and advises - "We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website" anyone else had this ? would i be better off ringing them ? whilst i;'m on the subject, do i need extra fixing rings attaching to the tarps ? and if anyone has used the tarp tape, will it be any good for making the joints on my plastic roof waterproof ? when raining, in a couple of places the rain is managing to defy gravity and go up and over the ridges and leak into the run Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It let me straight into the website. the clear tarps come with rings every metre. nice and strong .I bought tape and extra rings as I wanted to make sides like ANH (i think). the tape is very strong, whether I did not bash the plastic rings in hard enough or correctly but 2 have come off. but lots are fine. Ain't Nobody Here Posted January 29, 2010 Share Posted January 29, 2010 It was me, Sandy . I used tarp tape to make "hems" and also made extra eyelets. The tarp tape doesn't last long though and peels off eventually . The last rainblind I made, I cut extra squares of tarp (preferably with the white edging) to reinforce the corners and put the eyelet through the double thickness (or the eyelet would just get ripped off). You can also fold the edges over to make a hem but I wouldn't bother taping it - the eyelets hold it in place. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I got my 15' x 6' Tarp from them a couple of months back. Tarpflex were out-of-stock at the time, hence trying a different vendor. Prices were within a quid or so if I recall. Here it is in action. Thank you. My run is 15' x 6' (4.5m x 1.8m) and the tarpaulin has been fantastic, especially with the driving rain and then snow that we've had since Christmas. It will wrap around corners, but I'd be careful. Putting creases in the tarpaulin may cause it to split. Mine came with a warning not to fold it up, or unwrap it, in cold weather because it is much more brittle in such conditions. Will hopefully get one for ours and do similar ... have seen a few on ebay recently, but not really looked at prices.
