gooner.girl
Oh alright you 2!!!! Get down off your high horses! (or should that be white charger in PRINCESS Phils case?! ) Ok, granted Wenger did moan a bit, and granted we SHOULD have beaten Bolton and Blackburn at the Emirates, but we had NO home ties in the carling cup (other then the 2 leg vs Spurs) so its not like we are jammy that way! "Ooops, word censored!"nal fixtures: Carling cup: WBA - away Everton - away Liverpool - away Spurs - away and home Hardly easy fixtures and we've had all premiership teams in the f.a cup as well... Liverpool, Bolton, Blackburn and Man City if we get past B'burn.... Unlike Man.U and Chelsea - easy ride! Ours have been a much harder run through then anyone else's i think! Anyhow, Wenger was only suggesting that replays are a waste of time for everyone and i think I agree with him on this. More time, money and effort for the fans, fixture backlog for the players and team. Do extra time and penalties on the night! Having said that, I know it probably still means a lot to the little clubs if they can take the big boys back for a replay, money wise, so i am kinda torn but it is a pain for those in Europe to play more matches, the fixtures all add up. Oh i've confused myself now! *goes off muttering to think some more about it.....

Oh i've confused myself now! *goes off muttering to think some more about it..... Oh - there's hope for you yet!! If he was talking about the Carling Cup - fair enough - but this is the fa cup. it's not just about money for the smaller clubs - though that is important - it's about glory. taking the big boys back to your place is a really big thing - maybe not so much for the likes of Blackburn and Bolton - but for the lower leagues. I know this - cos Bolton have been right down the leagues - and sometimes a cup run - and getting the prima donna's back to play at your place - is a really big thing. Wenger has been in the English game long enough to know this.. Phil
Guest
Boycott the Telegraph!!!!! To the purists, Bolton's presence at the top table is like finding a piece of glass in a cream cake, yet they mean business. Phil

To the purists, Bolton's presence at the top table is like finding a piece of glass in a cream cake, yet they mean business. Phil I'd be flattered if i were you Phil! Everyone used to hate "Ooops, word censored!"nal under George Graham cos we played boring football, yet still won things, its similar with Bolton. Its great to be the underdog that way! I wish "Ooops, word censored!"nal still were sometimes!

gooner.girl
I don't think we are Chelsea, not according to Phil anyway. I think there was just one week we did, cos all our teams were playing in the premiership on a midweek night. Don't want to confuse poor Phil to much, he's an old man y'know! Its easily done! fourfinches
Ipswich are at home to Wolves. George O'Callaghan's red card against Watford has been rescinded on appeal - they might have won on Saturday if they'd not being playing one man down for the whole second half. I'm not bitter.... Now i wonder which former manager could have taught them that????.... hee hee No, they are all like that in spain and portugal though arent they?? Id much rather watch premier league than spanish or portuguese, too much stopping and starting in their game. Was beginning to think the ref was from portugal....just announced he's swiss.
